    Description

This is a wonderful antique home made folk art horse weight. You just hitch up your horse and he will not fun away. The wooden cone shaped base has a very old surface no traces of paint and some minor age rot on the bottom. The iron ball on the top has a plate that almost covers the top of the wood cone. The ball is attached to a post that goes down through the post to about an 1 1/2" from the bottom. Found in upstate New York this weight is from the early 1900's or late 1800's. There are two initials punched into the iron ball top, "B" and "O" must have been the makers.
The piece is in pretty good condition, the iron have a nice old surface and the wood also with minor wood flaking on the bottom. The entire piece is 22" tall, 11 1/2" across the bottom of the cone shaped wood base and 8 1/2" across the top. It weights in at 59 lbs.
