    Detailed Background Information
Rare original vintage glossy photo by Al Bochroch of the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race in 1963.  This beautiful print shows the #23 Ferrari 250P of John Surtees in the lead, with the winning Ferrari 250P of Lorenzo Bandini slightly hidden behind Surtees.  Others clearly visible are Dan Gurney in the #11 Ferrari 330 LMB, Bill Kimberley in the #7 Aston Martin DP214, Mike Parkes in the #22 Ferrari 250 P, and Augie Pabst in the #14 Jaguar E-Type Lightweight.  Everything is visible in this great image – the crowds in the pit lane, the great track advertising, the photographers across from the pits, and the frantic Le Mans style start.  It’s unclear when this was printed, but this is a real period photo, developed from the original negative, not a recent digital scan or print, and has the photographer’s name handwritten on the back.
This great item is a great piece of motor racing memorabilia.  Combine with other items I have posted to save on shipping.  Excellent item for any Le Mans, Ferrari, Dan Gurney, Sebring, or vintage race enthusiast, or anyone who enjoys Road and Track, Vintage Motorsport, or the Monterey Motorsports Reunion Historic races and Goodwood Revival.
